Stayed here with my wife for a few days during the week
in early July. Nice place - staff was excellent and the
restaurant has a nice patio overlooking the harbor. It's
also got a very private feeling - you don't just walk of
the main drag into the hotel (like say the days inn
which is a tragedy). You walk 10 meters down the
driveway and you're in their little world.
to remember:
Took the Victoria clipper from Seattle which is a
definite must over the other ferry. It's fast and quiet.
I recommend the lower level in front to travel vs. the
upper deck - views are just as good without the crush -
you can always head out the top to the back deck for
wind and ocean.
Request a room in the new section. The hotel added a
wing recently and the new section is what the good
reviews are talking about (bathrooms as large as cruise
ship rooms). Double-sink vanities, fantastic tubs, glass
showers, and big balconies with lounge chairs and views
of the harbor. Can't stress this enough.
Be aware the water airport starts up at 7am - they take
off from near the fisherman's wharf area which you're
not going to want to be on top of - none of those hotels
have balconies (that I saw). Those planes are really
loud and I'd say the laurel point hotel is the closest I
would want to be. It's picturesque to see the planes
land - i'm sure less so if you're in their hip pocket.
Watch out for the little water taxis - they offer a $56
tour 'up the gorge' which is a total waste of time and
the captains will try to sell you a $40 pass for the
entire week and say you can 'hop up the gorge' - the
water taxis can only take you two stops at a time. 10
stops up the gorge and you'd spend all day trying to get
there when there is literally a bridge ie nowhere. The
dock manager will try to sell you the $56 separate from
the $40 pass which you will have been told is all you
need. It's a scam and she knew very well what was going
on. We didn't pay but I'm sure many would. Taxis are
cute but they're still taxis and you should be on your
guard.
Check the hotel web site for combined deals with ferry
rides.
negatives:
Pool is tiny - fitness center is a joke - beds are way
too soft - enjoy that back ache!
Great destination! Enjoy.

We stayed here for a couple of days before an Alaskan
Cruise. My daughter never wanted to leave the room, it
was that gorgeous. Great view of the Harbor, the
bathroom was as large as our entire room on the cruise
and the amenities were wonderful. We were there for
Canada Day and it was nice being able to watch the
fireworks on the lawn in front of the hotel. We walked
all over downtown Victoria from this hotel, and the kids
played in the pool on both nights. Great time!

My family of 5 (three children 3,7,14) stayed here end
of June through July 2. We had booked a larger room, but
were hoping for an even larger room and so kept calling
up to the day of check in. The largest of the rooms were
full so we went and saw the room we had booked upon
arriving- it was small for the five of us so check in
gave us another option- It was fabulous! The room
overlooked the inner Harbor instead of the outer Harbor-
we could see the Parliament Bldg. the sea planes so
forth.. There is a walk way/sidewalk along the water
with trees and it was a nice place to walk and watch
others walking! The best part this hotel and its
location make it the best place for Canada Day
celebration. We got to stay in our rooms- since it was
cold! and watch them from our balcony- we could hear the
music and see all the lights, people and best spot for
fireworks. The hotel service was fantastic especially
Greme- he made our trip to Canada the best experience
for our family. The hotel was very clean and we are neat
freaks! It was quiet, but had enjoyed the festivities of
Canada day! Parking could not have been better- very
easy access for in and out- but walking distance to
everything we did around the Harbor was a breeze with
the location. We will love Victoria and will be back
because of the service and location this hotel offered I
can not think of one negative aspect. We have stayed in
other hotels in Victoria and had a nice experience, but
the Inn at Laurel Point stands out- it is picture
perfect!!

We booked this hotel as part of a Victoria Clipper
package, and were very happy. We were traveling with a
young child, and the front desk was very accommodating
with a slightly early check-in and late check-out. Room
was comfortable, and the views were spectacular. The
only drawback is that the hotel is a 10 minute walk from
downtown so it's a little harder to pop out quickly

I love this hotel. It has become my new favourite place
to stay. Entering the Laurel Point Inn, I immediately
feel I can relax. The open, fresh and spa-like
atmosphere is a welcome change from so many stuffy high
rise hotels. Working while listening to the trickle of
the beautiful stone fountains and the birds in the
garden feels too good to be true. When I stay here, I
don't want to leave. The staff are friendly and
attentive, the rooms are clean, spacious and relaxing
and the hotel has an award-winning restaurant. I highly
recommend the Laurel Point to anyone traveling to
Victoria, BC. It's perfect for business or pleasure.

The hotel was about 300 yards away from the Victoria
Clipper Terminal so it's location was great since we
were only in Victoria for one-day.
Room was nice / luxurious , bathroom included Aveda
products and the view of the inner harbor was terrific.
A few notes, the balcony was small and not too clean and
the Check-in process was a bit slow.

nice view but... We stayed at the Laurel Point Inn for
my company's Christams party. We booked a junior suite
which was very nice, all new furniture and lovely
bathroom with a huge soaker tub, it was on the ground
floor and it had a lovely view of the harbour and a nice
garden but since it was on the ground floor, we had a
couple of people hanging out right next to our patio as
there was no fencing so once can easily come up to the
door from the gardens which meant we had to draw the
curtains for privacy.
Room service for breakfast was slow and the attendant
asked my partner to repeat our order three times, there
seemed to be a language barrier. The food was very good.
I was shocked to hear that there I had to pay a 50
dollar pet fee, and the reason I was shocked is that
when we made the booking I was advised by two agents
that the 50 dollar fee only applied on stays of 7 days
or more. I argued with the front desk agent about this
and he was quite defensive and said that it was the
policy "the pet stayed at the hotel, you have to pay the
fee".
It took the valet parking about 15 minutes to get our
car.
I am not sure if I would stay at this hotel again or
not, some of my coworkers informed me their rooms were
small and really dated so we were lucky to get a nice jr
suite in the recently renovated wing of the hotel.
Location is not the best.

This is our second summer to stay at Laurel Point. We
keep returning because the service, rooms and views
cannot be beat. To our surprise upon arrival we were
upgraded to the Sunset suite in the Laurel Wing. Our
view was of the entire harbor with a private rooftop
deck to enjoy the views and the weather. Great location
for walking and sightseeing. |
