We stayed here for a wedding for 3 nights during July. LIved up to every
expectation. Had a residential view room to the rear of the building. Staff we
great, had the option of self park or vallet parking. Bags were unloaded and
taken to room. We were asked if the room was acceptable and given a full tour.
Room was very large and grand. Although some of the furniture was dated, nothing
else would have suited the hotel and the experience. Only had food here on the
wedding day but it was great. Staff were very helpful and they also gave us a
late check out free of charge. The only one little fault which was totally my
fault for not asking....International phone charges. I should have checked the
cost of these first as they cost me nearly $100 for a little amount of calls.
Other than that i would totally recommend this place. A grand hotel to live up
to its name.

We stayed for one night, at a very good rate. The service was fabulous, location
couldn't be better, had a great workout/pool area. The parking was reasonable,
the breakfast was fresh and delicious. The only complaint is the restaurant the
concierge suggested was not good. It was not at the hotel, Cafe Brio but
otherwise would recommend hotel highly.

What a beautiful hotel! It was located in such a pretty area! We had booked a
room with a Harbor view and it was spectacular! Room service was prompt, turn
down excellent. I would stay there again! Beautiful place!

Convenient stay
The purpose of my visit was a series of meetings in the Parliament complex, so
the hotel was very convenient. Hard to beat for that purpose. I had a great view
of the Harbor.

While the hotels grand lobby and main entrance are quite spectacular things
change upstairs. My confusion started when I asked the front desk for a one
bedroom suit and was given a regular room. It was a "full view" room even though
the window is no more than three feet wide. The old tv and lack of wireless in
the hotel room makes us feel that we were taken for a ride. As tourists in our
own we will not be recommending this hotel until it joins the 21st century. By
the way, we wrote this while waiting 45 minutes for a couple sandwiches in our
room attacked to the wall by a cable cord (will not surprise me if this shows up
on my bill later).

check-in was slow, did not get what we requested in terms of bed size, put into
a room on the top floor but next to the elevator, had to move rooms, went down
several floors and ended up with irish dancers over our heads, practicing much
of the night....repeated calls to management finally got the dancers to stop,
the concierge rocked, the location was perfect, the city was wonderful,
especially the tea, the food, and WONDERFUL Butchart Gardens....

We stayed at the Grand Pacific Hotel for two nights the end of May. The hotel
was nice but I'm not sure I would rate it as a 5-star but more so a 3-star
hotel. Yes, the rooms were clean as others have commented but they were very
small and crowded. The two items that concerned us were the charge for parking -
$15 a day at a hotel as a paying guest which we were not notified about and the
fact that the concierge we dealt with was terrible. We asked for restaurant
recommendations and she of course, gave us some but didn't bother to tell us
that all of them required reservations. So we spent about an hour walking around
one evening going to each of the 8 to 10 places she recommended and we couldn't
get in to any of them. All the literature we later found mentioning these
restaurants all stated that you would likely need reservations. The next day we
called and asked the concierge to make reservations for us. She told us the
restaurant was not open but she would make our reservations and then notify us
of the time. She never did that. For a hotel that claims to be 5-star, it would
see the concierge service would be much better. The plus of this hotel is that
it was in a great location and within walking distance from several restaurants,
etc. For the price of the room, I'm just not sure I would stay here again
considering all the other hotels that are close by that I am sure have clean
room as well.

Stayed in this hotel for only one night, but found that it was just a littel
walk from the bus station, shops and overlooking the Inner Harbour. What more
could we want? The bedrooms were good and breakfast was a buffet with plenty to
choose from. Would stay there again if we were in Victoria.

We flew to Victoria via seaplane, landed in the harbor, and walked to the Grand
Pacific. It was a bit of a trek, maybe 15 minutes, but there were interesting
things to see along the way. The front desk was exceptionally friendly and went
out of their way to impress our two young boys. Our two room suite had a 24 hour
sale price and was a great value. Clean, modern, comfortable, a good size, two
TVs (but not flat screens), and a pull out bed for the kids. Dinner at the
restaurant was tasty and room service breakfast the next morning was also
excellent. We had a packed day walking around downtown Victoria and seeing the
sites (the kids loved Bug World and the Miniatures Museum) before flying out on
the seaplane in the evening. You don’t need a car if you are just there for a
day.
