We stayed one night prior to an early departure from YVR. Although the building
is older, the rooms have been updated. The accommodations are decent for the
price. Our room was clean and quiet, and check in was friendly and helpful.
Unfortunately the mattress felt like it needs to be replaced. It definitely had
soft spots and the coils appear to have collapsed in places. If they upgrade the
mattresses to newer, hotel quality pieces, the rooms would rate a 5.

We stayed here overnight en route to Maui. The hotel is very dated and worn out
but reasonably clean. The room was a good size and we knew going that it was a
bargain hotel. We were not expecting to see so many lady bugs in the room. I
counted about 10 in total which was creepy.

Efficient shuttle service from the airport to Travelodge where a clean room
awaited me after being delayed in Victoria. The next morning I was back at the
airport which is a mere 15 minute shuttle ride from the hotel. This is a good,
inexpensive place to stay while in transit from Vancouver.

Stayed 2 nights here, in town for doctor appointments. Overall, hotel is
average, clean, friendly and welcoming. The room was nice and clean, big king
bed, comfortable. No fridge, I don't understand why not, thats just me. Hallways
seemed dated and dark, same with elevators. Free parking with registration. You
are close to coffee shops and groceries with a restaurant attached to the hotel
but with no free breakfast, food was ok but the service was very slow. The
indoor pool was great but I found some dead flies on the floor but the pool was
quite clean. Next to the highway and close to the airport. If you stay here, you
need a vehicle although you could take public transit or a taxi but it is not
convenient at all, would take a while to commute. A great place to stay while on

It skipped my mind that I was going to Canada and the U.S. in summer! Since I
usually travel on business, I was not keeping tab of the seasons, hence I booked
with Travelodge 3 days before I left for British Columbia en route to
First sign that summer's gonna be a hot one: I received notice from my credit
card company that the previous payments - at least 3 days before I left - have
not yet been posted. Since Travelodge is a chain of hotels the system kicked me
out before I arrived night of July 24. I called up the hotel upon arrival only
to find out that my reservation was not confirmed. I do not have a room and it
was past midnight. It was a good thing that I only have a small handcart luggage
and my backpack.
The manager on duty told me that I could stay in the lobby and would have a room
for me first thing in the morning. I was still on Manila time so I did go.
Next concern: my appointment with one of the colleges I intend to visit was not
confirmed till past noon. Subsequently I got back to the hotel almost midnight.
Third concern: the internet bandwidth had been held hostage by about a 100
travellers who were staying at the hotel. I could not get into the information
superhighway. I called up the manager on duty who was kind enough to patch me
through to a specific IP address and got me going. I needed to send my newspaper
column and report so that was done.
The efficiency and service orientation of a hotel's service is not measured when
thing are going good. Instead it is how the hotel staff responds to mini crises.
This being the scenario, I rate Travelodge service super.
Knowing that the rates are very competitive even for summer is but icing on the
