was the first place I visited during a recent trip to Vancouver. I was wandering
all over downtown, trying to find a specific restaurant, not finding it, then
trying to find something else that wasn't packed and had tasty-looking options
that weren't too expensive. Stumbled into the Revel Room and felt immediately
welcomed and soothed.
Fun decor, sweet wait staff. Really, really sexy bartenders (suspenders,
moustaches, tattoos, oh). Good food, largely NOLA-inspired, very comforting,
very bad for you. I didn't care; I was starving and I ate it all! AND I had the
smoky s'mores drink. It was oddly delicious.

Some observations: lox dish had fruit flies buzzing. Soggy scrambled eggs
swimming in water. Good croissants. Nice to see congee -- certainly a reflection
of the city's international flair. Slow service in morning on coffee, and they
were cleaning the area while I was eating, which wasn't very pleasant. Nice
