A few things hold me back from giving a higher rating,
I agree with statements made by others regarding the breakfast. It is very
minimal, and the lack of a good toaster, sufficient to keep up to the demand of
the customers creates a traffic jam that is more than annoying. Conveyer toaster
would end that immediately.
The other negative I have to pass on is the presence of some very "seedy"
looking characters at the motel. Not sure if they are temporary residents or
permanent but their activities of back and forth from their rooms made us more
than a little uncomfortable. Not normal behavior.
Wifi was good at times but cutout at other times.
Parking is free ,but difficult for large vehicles, we had a regular extended cab
1/2 ton truck and found it extremely tight to get in and out of any parking
stalls. It's had to knock the place for this short coming but it would be an
important consideration for those travelers with large vehicles.
Swimming pool was closed during our stay, seasonally closed I guess, but no
notice of that was listed when booking the stay, kids were disappointed.
In the hotel description it says that no pets are allowed, this is false, we did
see people with dogs, staying at the hotel. We specifically, chose this property
on that detail due to our child's allergies. Our room didn't give her any
breathing problems, but I guess we were lucky to not have a room previously used
by an owner with a pet.
Room was dated in decor but clean, everything worked as it should, heater/Air
conditioner was fine, all staff were very friendly and helpful.
I would stay again but not with my family, it is good value, and at its price
point it's a winner. If the notes above get addressed it will not be one of the
lowest prices in north Vancouver.
Please do not take this review as a knock to your motel, there are many people
that would not necessarily agree with our review, it's ok, everyone is entitled
to an opinion.
Is is apparent that staff do care about the guest experience and that is great,
the things that are extraneous to you ie seedy people at the hotel is quite
likely not something you can change after the fact, but if anything, look at the
things you can change and make it happen, you'll spend less time sending out the
cheesy " we're sorry that your experience was not as you planned" form letter

I was very much pleased with the accommodation at comfort Inn. The staff were
helpful and the location was conveniently close to major attractions. There was
easy access to the buses as the major bus stops were close by. The snow bus to
Whistler Blackcomb also stops there. Where breakfast is concerned I'd recommend
a cool walk to tomahawk restaurant on Phillip Avenue near by. I'd definitely
recommend this hotel if you are looking at budget, cleanliness and convenience.

I paid less than $80 (pre-tax) for the night for myself and two children to stay
in a two queen bed room with free parking, wi-fi and breakfast included. At that
price it felt like I was taking a gamble that may not pay off but in fact this
hotel exceeded my expectations. The gentleman at front desk when we checked in
was mild mannered and extremely courteous. Everything was as it should be for
this grade of hotel. Our room was clean - not dustless, comfortable - not
luxurious, big enough - not spacious. Breakfast was good - not incredible. Given
the price I paid I received far more than just the basic. Despite being near to
a busy road and intersection we were not disturbed by traffic or any of the
The hotel is located close to local amenities; restaurants, ATMs, liquor stores,
public transit, a gas station etc and it is near to the main routes for
sightseeing Vancouver, catching ferries from Horseshoe Bay or heading up the

Management went out of way to accommodate needed handicap facilities and also
booked a handicapped cab for the next morning. Dining is within two blocks
walking distance of a Denny's and nice steak house.
